A talk by Mark Duffell
From Arvensis Ecology
Whilst Charles Darwin is well known for his voyages of discovery on the Beagle and the subsequent publication of his seminal work “On the Origin of Species”, however Mark gave us a fascinating insight into Darwin’s lesser known work on botany. This included his studies into the pollination and fertilisation of plants – some of which were really strange. Darwin was also fascinated by Insectivorous Plants and Mark explained the intricate and strange ways these plants survive by extracting their required nutrients from insects which are enticed into their carefully laid traps.
Mark’s talk was illustrated with many intersting and challenging photographs. For more information on Mark and the courses his company offers, click here.
